We've spent the afternoon...

...brainstorming words for some new signs ♡ We use a huge sheet of paper,  coloured pens (Mum's favourite - she loves pens!) & we get talking and writing! These are officially my 2 favourite things so I am in my element!

There is something about coloured pens and a huge sheet of paper...it takes me back to my school days, especially the brainstorming. Working as a team to come up with something great. Sharing ♡

Today it was very therapeutic and we find it useful to do this every few weeks to get a new focus for our work.

Multi-tasking madness!

Starting our business has very much highlighted to me my own need to keep life simple. I love the idea of simple living. Ok it's a little idealistic in my head; spending lots of time at home, growing our own food, lots of laughter and family time and baking yummy fresh bread :-) Much of the time we spend at home definitely does not look like this!

I spend far too much time multi-tasking...juggling the children with sorting out the home...organising our finances and any admin...working on orders. These are all things I enjoy and they keep my brain stimulated and well balanced, but I'm yet to find a way to keep things simple. I think it's just a case of effective time management and making some rules for myself but it's something I'm continuing to work on.

I very badly need to keep things simple because whilst I don't feel I have a hugely busy life, I do seem to have a big issue with not being present in many situations. By 'present' I mean aware and grounded and paying attention! For example, this week, so far (!), I have managed to wash my keys (yes, in the machine!), go out leaving the front door open, leave my Son's scooter in the middle of a field & leave my car door wide open for a couple of hours!

My mission this week is to Be. More. Mindful. Or perhaps *Just be* :-)

Exciting times ahead!

It's been a great day today; the sun has been shining and it feels like Spring is on its way. Things are going great generally.

We have had some fantastic feedback and it's lovely to be told our products are "different" and "refreshing". We are working hard to stay true to ourselves. It would be so easy to go down different avenues with the purpose of creating more sales. There are many designs at the moment that are very popular and we love seeing these through other businesses. But our creations and the words we use are more than just pretty things for the home; they are translations of our beliefs and dreams about life. They are an extension of us :-)

So we are thrilled when we're told or products are unique and stand out from the crowd.  And even moreso if they bring a smile to someone's face :-)

Things feel very much in the flow at the moment & there are many exciting times to come we feel sure!

*Waving hello!*

Hello! We've been super busy and neglecting keeping this blog updated, which is something we were really keen not to do. Most of our time has been spent networking and keeping our Facebook page up to date, as well as Twitter...our Etsy shop...Ebay...Pinterest...! I could go on...the social networking and online world is HUGE! And fabulous tools for business as well.

We love what we do and writing is equally important to us to be able to let you in on our lives and thoughts, plus for you to get to know the faces behind The Seashack :-)
